Metke Remodeling & Luxury Homes is a design-build company, meaning we integrate both aspects of a renovation. First, any changes to the structure will look like they’ve always been there, bringing together the old and the new in perfect harmony. And then our Portland interior design services complete the overall look of your home.
Interior design can play a tremendous role in turning your house into a home–your home. But knowing trends to follow and which ones to run away from can be hard to navigate. And you don’t want your newly remodeled home to be outdated before you’ve really had a chance to live in it!
That’s where Metke Remodeling & Luxury Homes interior design services come into play. We know the difference between style and fad, how to blend tried and true with modern and sleek. From choosing cabinet styles and hardwood floors to redesigning floor plans, we take the time to listen to you and give you what you need from your home.
This is your home after all. What we do is listen to your wants, needs, and desires and give you options to choose from that we feel fit your personality and the design of your overall home. Because interior design is so much more than choosing the right countertop in the butler’s kitchen (although that should be discussed too!).
The Interior Design Process
The initial meeting is focusing on who you are and what you need out of your home. Removing a wall to turn your living room and dining room into an open space for entertaining, carving out an area for a home office, or removing a hall closet to create the chef’s kitchen of your dreams. Tell us what you’re thinking about.
As a full-service design group, we are able to take your thoughts, suggestions, and examples and give you a few different options. Because our design and construction teams work so closely with each other, we can spot potential issues early in the design process.
Once we have a general idea of the floor plan you want, we talk about how you want your new space to look. Colors, materials, design styles, and more for your kitchen, great room, master suite, and so on. Chances are, you’ve already done a few internet searches about what you’re thinking about. Bring those ideas with you so we can incorporate them into your plans.
Our interior design studio and showroom have many examples of cabinets, tiles, countertops, and other design options for you to compare and contrast. But we don’t limit ourselves to what we have on hand: If you want locally sourced Italian marble, we’ll get it for you.
Our principal designers and design consultants are experts at taking all of this information and developing a few different plans for you to look at. Floor plans, colors, window and door styles, stair treads, and more are presented to give you a true understanding of what your home will look like.
Portland Interior Design: Furniture
In some cases, a whole home renovation–or even just a new master suite–may require new furniture. Perhaps your existing furniture works perfectly with farmhouse interior and architecture. But if you’re moving towards a more modern look, new furniture is a must.
As part of your luxury remodel or new custom home build, Metke Remodeling & Luxury Homes can make recommendations for your new furniture. Both in design and materials but also how the new furniture fits in your home. As our senior design coordinator says, it’s a bit like a game of Tetris, ensuring all the pieces you want make sense in the space.
Of course, if you want to keep your existing furniture, that’s great too! However, after living with the new interior design for a few months, many clients have asked for our help picking out new pieces. We are more than happy to offer our services well after the final walk-through. It’s one of the ways we create long-lasting relationships with our clients.
