About
Our Story
Since 1989, Metke Remodeling & Luxury Homes has been helping clients turn ideas into homes they love, and relationships that last. What began as a custom woodworking shop rooted in fine finish carpentry has grown into an award-winning design-build firm known for thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship, and a highly personalized experience.
Built on a foundation of integrity, collaboration, and attention to detail, Metke’s legacy continues through a dedicated team of designers, project managers, carpenters, and support staff who share a passion for creating beautiful, enduring homes. Every project, from kitchens and baths to whole-home renovations and custom builds, receives the same care, creativity, and commitment to quality that has defined the Metke name for decades.
Today, we remain guided by the values that shaped our beginnings: earning trust, honoring our craft, and delivering homes that stand the test of time.
Our History
In 1989, Jeff Metke opened a custom woodworking shop rooted in a passion for fine craftsmanship. Teresa joined the company as Vice President of Design & Marketing, helping shape Metke’s design-forward vision and brand. What began as a small woodworking shop evolved into a trusted design-build firm through hands-on leadership, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Together, Jeff and Teresa built a strong foundation grounded in integrity, creativity, and care for the work. They are, and will always be, the heart of Metke — and their legacy lives on through the homes we create and the dedicated team who carries their vision forward.
Meet the Team
Nick Metke joined Metke Remodeling as a Project Manager and has spent the years since growing into his role as President and owner, building on the strong foundation Jeff Metke established over three decades ago. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon and brings a leadership style rooted in collaboration, accountability, and a genuine investment in the people around him. Nick is hands on by nature, always looking for ways to improve the experience for both clients and the team. What drives him isn't just the business side of things. It's the relationships, the craftsmanship, and carrying the Metke legacy confidently forward.
Nick Metke
President
Jeff Metke has had sawdust in his veins since his grandmother handed him a hammer at age three. He put himself through college building furniture and cabinets, and after graduating from Washington State University with a degree in Construction Management, he turned that lifelong passion into Metke Remodeling. What started as a small finish carpentry operation has grown into a full-service design-build firm with a constantly growing team. More than three decades later, Jeff still lights up when a client walks into a finished space and their jaw drops. That moment never gets old.

Arlo Christensen cannot remember a time when construction wasn't part of his life. As a young boy, he sat on his father's lap while footings were dug for their family home. He started his first construction job right out of high school, earned his general contractor's license in 2009, and ran his own business for 12 years before joining Metke. Originally from Santa Cruz, Arlo has a sharp eye for finish details and a natural ability to connect with clients and subcontractors alike. When he is not on a job site, you will likely find him in the ocean.

Stuart Burrows has been building things since before he knew it was going to be a career. He grew up working alongside his father on rental properties and framing new homes with his uncle. That early foundation never left him. In 2015, he started his own remodeling business in Oklahoma City, then relocated to Portland in 2018 and kept right on going. Stuart has built a reputation for craftsmanship and genuine client care that follows him wherever he lands, and he brings both to every project he manages. Outside of work, he stays active outdoors and channels that same love for craft into his own woodworking art projects.
